In 1955, both The Broadway and The Palace were refurbished to show the new widescreen Cinemascope films.
To celebrate the installation of the new ‘Curvilinear’ screen, a gala re-opening was held on 12th September, with a very respectably dressed audience watching the equally elegant Fred Astaire & Leslie Caron in ‘Daddy Long Legs’.
